And now for today's Sunday Smooch from An Unlikely Bride for the Billionaire

 A most unlikely match!

Mia wants to keep her head down - not get distracted by handsome billionaire Dylan Fairweather! Asked to plan his sister's wedding, she can't say no to his other outrageous proposition: pose as Dylan's girlfriend so he can assess his future brother-in-law's intentions!

Shy Mia doubts anyone would believe he's dating her…especially if they discovered the secret past she's worked so hard to leave behind. But as she grows closer to Dylan, Mia might just find she's more than worthy of this prince among men…

Scene set-up: Mia has just had dinner at the Fairweather mansion. An incident  upset her and Dylan has comforted her. They are sitting outside, beneath the stars, and Dylan has Mia firmly ensconced in his lap. ;-)

‘If you really don’t want me to kiss you, I won’t.’ He trailed his fingers down her throat and along her collarbone. ‘I love your dress.’

The change of topic should have thrown her, but she grasped it like a lifeline. ‘It’s new. I bought it especially.’

‘For tonight? For me?’

Her eyes met his.

No lying.

‘Yes.’

His fingers continued to trail delicious paths of sensation across her skin. ‘Are you sure your stance on romance hasn’t changed?’

She couldn’t look away. ‘Positive.’

Liar.

‘I still want to kiss you.’

Her heart beat so loud she thought he must hear it.

‘Would you like me to kiss you, Mia?’

Her pulse thumped. ‘I’ll own to some curiosity,’ she managed.

‘Is that a yes?’

She met his gaze and nodded. ‘Yes.’

Mia realised her mistake the moment Dylan’s mouth claimed hers.

She’d thought his first touch would be gentle, but it wasn’t. It was sure and firm and a complete assault on her senses.

Dylan wanted to overwhelm her with sensation—perhaps in punishment for her ‘my stance on romance hasn’t changed’ comment. He wanted to thank her for sticking up for him at the dinner table… And somehow both of those impulses cancelled out the underlying threat in the other and dragged Mia under as if she’d been picked up by a giant wave.

She wound her arms around his neck and held on, waiting for the crash to come as the wave barrelled her along… But it didn’t slam her down as she’d feared. Dylan’s arms cradled her, holding her safe, and in the end all Mia could do was sink into them.

He nibbled her bottom lip, coaxing her to open to him. And she did. She wanted to hesitate, to hold back, but she couldn’t. His tongue laved her inner lips and something inside her unfurled. His tongue coaxed hers to dance and something inside her sparked to life, filling her veins with heat and her soul with joy.

Dylan deepened the kiss, kissing her so thoroughly and with such intensity that his name was wrenched from her throat.

He lifted his head for a moment, his eyes glittering, and she suddenly realised that the flirtatious charmer had been stripped away to reveal the warrior beneath. And every potent ruthless sinew of his being was focussed wholly on her.

It should have made her afraid.

But she wasn’t afraid of him. All she had to do was tell him to stop. And she knew that he would.

One corner of his mouth lifted, as if he’d read that thought in her face. ‘You think I’m going to give you a chance to think, Mia?’

Her heart thumped. ‘Dylan, sex won’t make a scrap of difference. I—’

The force of his kiss pushed her head back. One of his hands traced the length of her—slowly, lazily—and Mia couldn’t help but kiss him back with just as much force, hunger ravaging her body.

She wanted this man.

If she couldn’t have him she thought she might die.

Dylan is the owner-manager of a very successful events management company. He throws the best parties. To go into the draw to win a signed copy of An Unlikely Bride for the Billionaire, tell me the most memorable party or event you've ever been to?

Come back next Sunday, when the winner of today's giveaway will be announced and a smooch from Katrina Cudmore will be posted!

    1. Back to the 60s? Oh, I'd have loved that! I sometimes think the planning of a party is half the fun. So glad it turned out so well and that your daughter had such a good time, Kandy. :-)

I think 2 Harlequin parties in NYC at the Waldorf Astoria have to rank up there, Michelle. Rocking out to ol blue eyes in New FREAKING York!!!

NYC 2019 - you should definitely clear it on your calendar and come for the party alone :-)

Ooh, what a smoochie smooch! This book sounds pretty hot. Haven't read one of yours yet, Michelle. So this one would be a great start.

My daughter put on a surprise 50th birthday for me and invited all my friends and some family members, it was held in my favourite restaurant, was pretty special! And an even bigger surprise was the super-sized cupcake she had made for me. The decorations and design was out of this world! Best party I ever had.

  6. When I turned 40 and my husband turned 50, we hosted a 90th birthday party halfway between our birthdays. We rented a hall and hired a DJ, while our families provided table snacks and an 11 pm snack table. People were told their presence is our present and to dress comfortably. I wore jeans and slippers and danced the night away. One of my best memories is of my brother "polka-ing" me around the dance floor and out the front door. Man, I laughed a lot and many still remind me of that party 17 years ago now. Must start planning our 130th birthday party. It'll be here before we know it....

    1. Laney, what a brilliant idea to have a combined party and call it a 90th. I love that your family brought the snacks and that their presence was your present. Also, you made me jealous -- I want a brother who will polka me around the dance floor. ;-)

  8. Recently our friend turned 50 and we had a surprise party for him. He got hammered him girl got hammered and they ended up being unable to drive. ( they live a half mile from the party) but the rest of us were camping out so we had our tent set up ). Hubby and I go to bed and there they were passed out in our tent. Hubby was like you go in and check where they are cause we could hear the snoring. Yep. They were naked under the covers . And yep they had done it on the floor or our tent. Needless to say hubby and I had to snuggle
In a small area by the door for the night. In our sleeping bag. Lmao. They were so hung over in the morning they were embarrassed when they started remembering what went on the night before. We have em crap cause it was the first night using that new tent and we didn't get to christen it because they beat us to it and stayed. Lmao

    1. Oh, no, Diana! But that's too funny. Next time you'll have to remember to pitch a tent for the birthday boy or girl. ;-) Still, that's one incident you're going to be able to laugh at for a long time to come! :-)

  9. Ooh, la, la, what a smooch, Michelle!

Hm, I'm trying to think of the best party and it's tough. I'm glad to say there have been several memorable ones, including a few all day champagne brunches with close friends, as well as celebrations of special achievements and lovely family gatherings. So nice to remember some of them.

    1. Annie, I think it can be hard to pick out just one party. And sometimes those smaller gatherings can be the most fun...and perhaps the most memorable if it's an all day champagne brunch. ;-)

  10. Great smooch, Michelle!!

An memorable party I went to was in an Italian castle on a lake when I was with a management consulting firm. Little candles lit the path all the way up the cobblestoned lane to the entrance - magical.
