Funday: August is...

Did you know that August is Tradies' National Health month?!

It's a Funday on the LoveCats and I thought we'd use it to bring a serious message:

With a liberal dose of humour in the form of this anthem version:

And some more fun with this game - here's the link:  TRADIES' HEALTH GAME!

If you play, please tell me how you went. My score was soooo bad and I couldn't stop my little tradie avatar from eating the burgers!  I have no idea how the players on the leaderboard have done so well - I managed a measly 89 points!  Let me know the secret to avoiding the hamburgers if you find it!

    1. Oh, well done, Lyn! I fluked my 89 point high on my first go - it was all down hill after that! LOL

  2. I never got past level 1. I scored 97 points once and none a few times. Must be some trick I don't know about. I need my great nephew to try it out and tell me how to avoid the burgers.

I love seeing both Tradies ads. Love the fact that tradespeople is shorted to Tradies in Australia. I will have to go listen to the Australian anthem now .

    1. Kaelee, I got no points quite a few times too! Standing by for information from your great nephew on hamburger avoidance! ;)

  3. I don't play these kind of games very often but I discovered if you hit the space bar repeatedly you can make your avatar fly higher and maybe miss the burgers. My highest score so far is now 200 points. I'm going to try it a few more times tonight after I read the Sunday Smooch.

  4. Hi it's me again. I made it to Level 2 (something about going to the gym) and made 1639 points. I think it was 350 points I needed to get up a level. The points for water and stuff increased. I'm going to quit or I'll be up all night playing this. Got too many plans for Monday so I need to get to sleep.

    1. Oh, wow, GO, Kaelee! LOL
Thank you for those tips! Sleep well and maybe at the end of you busy Monday you might come back to have another go! Oooo, feeling just a little bit wicked for leading you into temptation! ;)

  5. I got 1709 and felt really clever. Too bad I had my 18 yr. old do it and the little brat got 10170! I cheered when he died! :-p He tried to suck up and claim he got his skill from me. *eyeroll*

    1. LOLOLOL! Marcy! Still, you have to admit that line about getting his skill from you is pretty priceless - and smooth, very smooth! He'll go far! I'm impressed with both your scores!

  6. I'm addicted.

Level One; Too many burgers are bad for you.
Level Two: Hit the gym to keep in shape.
Level Three: A pat on the back for a mate goes a long way.

It doesn't matter how many points you have to go up a level. You just have to complete the level. Level two adds a boot which gives you a bubble of protection and a bar bell which makes you jump higher. Level three has taller barriers to jump and the background goes past at a faster rate. My highest score so far is 4718 which is a long long way from the leader board.

Now I am feeling like a wicked temptress peddling Tradie Health Game temptation! LOL

  7. OMG, I am so not going to click on the link to that game! Bad Sharon. Look what you've led Kaelee and Marcy. ;-) I so don't need this kind of distraction at the moment (but…I could bookmark it for later). :-)

P.S. I'm so glad Tradies have a national health month.

    1. Go on, Michelle... you know you really want to... cue evil laughter in the background - bwah-ha-ha!

Okay, I'll stop it... but if you bookmark for later, promise you'll come back to tell us how you went! :)

Yes, I was pretty taken with the Tradies' National Health Month - let's face it, a tradie in need is a hero indeed! Okay, I'll quit with the misquotes now too. shall I! LOL

  8. Sharon, where did you find this? What a great fun day! Like Michelle, though, I'm going to avoid that link. I've got too many excuses to procrastinate already. Thanks for posting. I never knew there was a Tradies' Health Month! What a well-informed cat you are.

    1. LOL about avoiding the link, Annie! I found it on the internet and was a bit disappointed that I hadn't seen these little videos on the TV since it's August. But then I don't watch a lot so perhaps I've missed them. They've got a great message!

  9. Luckily I couldn't open the game…please, nobody tell me how to do that (and I'm looking at you, Sharon, you wicked temptress!) because I don't need the distraction either. And I'm a total sucker for games. This ones sounds like it has a fun/good message as well with the trade health subtext. What an excellent tool (forgive the pun) for getting that message across.

I firmly believe that tradies are heroes. And brining this back to romance, there's something very appealing about a competent man with a tool belt.

    1. Oh, Bron... are you sure we can't help you access the game?? (evil laughter!) Oooo, nice pun about the videos getting the message across.

I couldn't agree more about a competent man in a toolbelt being a hero in the hour of need!

  10. Hi Sharon ~ I made it to level four: Happy Family and Friends Keep Life Good.
I made 10,322 points. The game speeds up each level and it requires great hand eye coordination . That's the reason I keep playing the game. :-)
