Catwalk Wednesday

Name: Furball
Abode:
My favourite place it on top of the clothes horse when it's set up
(preferably with clothes on it so I don't fall through - think hammock for cats!). Alternatively, I enjoy the top of the stack of storage crates in my human's office. They're just at the right level to catch the airflow coming from the air conditioner - cool in summer, warm in winter.
Human Slave: Kylie
Likes:
Lying just under the covers, sharing a pillow, in Kylie's queen
size bed in winter. Eating brussel sprout leaves from the compost bucket. Going on the ran-tan through the house on rainy days.
Dislikes:
Dogs. Strangers. Boots. I skeddadle and hide when I see any of
these things.
Ambition
: I'm King of the Beasts, especially in winter when my mane fills
out. Sociable or Aloof: Don't tell anyone but I'm more like the Cowardly Lion than anyone realises.
Night Owl or Early Bird:
Early Bird. I wake my human carer up at 4.30am on
the dot. Isn't this when everyone wants to go outside for a little wee walk???
Favourite Pastime:
Chasing bugs. I give any human gymnast a run for their
money with my backflips and full twists as I chase my prey.
Favourite Toy:
Hair elastic, especially when it's on the lino floor. It's
a miniature ice-hockey puck. Such fun!
Best Friend: Kylie. I love curling up on her lap or beside her when she's stretched out on the lounge.
What do you like to sharpen your claws on:
The back of any lounge chair.

Most embarrassing moment:
The day I discovered an echidna in my backyard
and confronted it. We had a Mexican stand-off for a couple of minutes and the moment I looked away the bundle of prickles charged me. I jumped six feet in the air, did a 360 while up there and retreated, much to the amusement of Kylie and the neighbours who were visiting us.

Catwalk Wednesday

Name : Bailey - like the irish cream

Abode : mainly outdoors even though I did promise to be an indoor cat

Human Slave : Everyone and anyone who thinks my flat nose is cute

Likes: correct proportions of roo mince, seafood platter and crunchy biscuits mixed together...but not too much!! Oh and I'd do anything for some fatty roast pork.

Dislikes: Getting my feet wet - seriously I'd rather pee inside when it's raining or cold...but I'm in therapy for that phobia

Sociable or Aloof: I choose to keep a small circle of those who I allow to touch me...or see me

Night Owl or Early Bird: Night owl and beauty sleep all day, even with a brick for a pillow

Favourite Pastime: Being licked by my Golden Lab dog companion...who's just eaten roast pork and gravy, kinda like a mud pack.

Favourite Toy: anything that tweets or squeaks

Best Friend: Chad, my Lab companion... who sadly passed away, I do miss him. We have a new Choccy Lab, but he's just to young and idiotic for me to allow into 'my space' just yet I'm afraid. He'll have to earn the gravy licking privilege. He's showing promise.

What do you like to sharpen your claws on: my property ie, my owners and their leather lounge

Most embarrassing moment: Dealing with the consequences enforced by my therapist for not wanting to get my feet wet when I pee inside.

I really enjoy adventuring amongst cobler's pegs and burs, but don't so much enjoy the # 1 clippers!!!

Catwalk Wednesday

Name:
Splat. And not because I'm going to make that noise as a car runs over me (sniff) as some people have suggested!
I'm not quite sure how I ended up with my name. It might have been because when I was a kitten I used to run through the house, launch myself at the curtains/washing hanging on the line/skirts/whatever waved in the breeze or was fun to climb, swing on it and then let go. The name came from the sound of moi's chubby, furry little body hitting the ground.
Or maybe it was the time I chased my sister, Panda through the house while my human companion was painting, and I happened to mistime a ferocious leap and ended up knocking over the paint bucket, splattering mango hue all over the place, including my fur...my first (and if I have any say in it) my LAST bath!

Dislikes:
Dogs, that's a given. What's so appealing about a panting, slobbering, butt-sniffing canine for company?
Vacuum cleaners also come high up on this list. I have nightmares about being sucked up into that noisy contraption. It's a good thing I'm 6kgs of fur and fat--umm, I mean muscle. No way will I ever fit up that long, thin tube! Gotta keep up the diet, gives me an excuse to snack, muscle building requires energy, you know.
Thunder and rain hitting the tin roof (shudder) - but don't tell my companion or I'll use your legs as a scratching post. She thinks I'm comforting her while the storm is raging by following her around the house and sitting next to her legs or on her lap. If she's not home, I like to hide under the nice, dark, safe bed.

Favourite Pastime:
Eating, sleeping, eating, helping my companion write her stories (did you know she blogged the other week about me being her furry little protege?), eating, sleeping, checking out the washing (I'm HELPING get the wrinkles out, not swinging off it, honest!), eating, sleeping, terrorizing Panda, eating...

Best Friend:
My uncle, Furball. We hang out together - on the bed, in the garden, across at the neighbours house, on the rug while watching TV. He calls me his Little Shadow. I follow him everywhere - except when I hear the refrigerator door open...or the grocery bags rustling...or the pantry door squeak...

What do you like to sharpen your claws on:
Mostly the lounge. Did you know my companion actually bought me a new one last week! I mean those scratching posts are OK but why go for the rough hemp when you can sharpen your claws on suede? Much more sophisticated and it feels divine under the paw pads, so soft and velvety...purrrrrrr!

Do you have a pet photo you'd like to share?

The LoveCats are showcasing Catwalk Wednesday each week! For those readers who'd like us to feature their furred, feathered or scaled friends, please send Mel the snapshot to her email - melteshco@yahoo.com.au with the subject line: Catwalk Wednesday photo. Each week the LoveCats will choose one animal friend. Mel will then send off a list of questions for the pet owner to choose from!
