Holiday Snaps!

Those of you who follow me on FB or twitter will know I'm just back from almost 4 weeks overseas. You'll have probably seen the pics so forgive me for the double up but hey...who doesn't like to look at holiday snaps, right? Beware, I found pano mode on my iPhone camera and went a little craaazy! You can click on any of the images to make them larger!

LONDON
Freezing cold but still a special place in my heart.
Iconic symbols and a Harrods red velvet cupcake to die for!

Catching up with some medical author mates at a posh hotel for after noon tea. Or afternoon chamagne...

The lovely Kate Hardy and Annie Clayton
Hiedi Rice and Lucy King - my fellow Fairy Tale of New York authors!
Two of my fav medical authors - Jennifer Taylor and Caroline Anderson - whose books I read obsessively when I was trying to get published in the line. Awesome women, awesome writers and I have to pinch myself to think I know these wonderful writes personally!

Lunch with a view at The Shard with my fabulous editor Megan! Wow - does she know how to impress this girl from DownUnder!

Why yes, that is the Tower Of London you can see in the background!

CRUISE BOAT

View from the lounge at the front of the ship!

 ITALY

Our male companions having a toyota moment in Pompeii!

GREECE

I cried standing in front of these amazing ancient monument.

ME AFTER TOO MUCH FOOD AND BOOZE :-)

There are hundreds more but I won't bore you!
Do you like looking at other people's holiday snaps or would you rather stick a rusty fork in your eye?

    1. Best thing about holiday snaps is the impetus to holiday again, Sue :-)

  5. I know, given all of those photos, I shouldn't have focused in on that piece of pizza, but...PIZZA!

Love your snaps, Amy. It's great to be able to live the holiday vicariously through them. And it seriously looks like a great time was had by all. :-) Happy sighs.

  6. I love your photos, Amy! Hubby and I are planning a trip to Europe next year and the deciding what we want to do/see is so overwhelming at this stage. How on earth did you work out where you wanted to go and how you wanted to do it? I'm dead keen to do a river cruise (no waves, no swell = no seasickness, right? Please say, right!) and I really want to tour Italy, especially the Amalfi Coast and Tuscany.

    1. It can be overwhelming, Yvonne, I agree! Spoilt for choice. We did a Med cruise so that dictated the itinerary essentially. I wasn;t sure about the boat as I get sea sick but the water was calm and apart from funny moments on land when I felt like I was on the boat (and those views of course!)I really couldn't tell I was on a boat at all!
Love river crusies - absolutely no swell, I promise! And all those castles are amazing!
Would recommend the Amalfi coast. Positano is eye-achingly gorgeous. But go up into the hills behind as well to Ravello - belissimo!

  7. Love, love, love holiday pics as long as they don't go on for days. Remember the old slide-shows we endured way back when? Well, maybe, you're too young and I was too young at the time because I remember some as interminable.

But nowadays I'm always up for travel pics because I can imagine going there myself. Dreaming about travel is one of my favourite pastimes!

    1. Oh yes! I remember the slide nights, Bron :-)
Funnily enough I always loved them though. So many of them were family slides and I always wanted to know my roots!

  8. I love holiday snaps. Although sometimes they will make me jealous, for the most part they give me inspiration of where to go when I finally pull finger and get travelling.
First stop: see more of my own beautiful country (including attending more RWNZ conferences), second stop: visit Australia and include meeting to many friends I haven't actually met in person as well as those family members who choose to live in Aus; stop 3+ travel further.

    1. Oh you should definitely pop across the ditch, Lyn - we're all very friendly here and its only a 3 hour flight! It takes longer to fly to Darwin! :-)

  9. Looks amazing, AA! Very jealous! But I do love to see holiday snaps so I can live vicariously.

  10. Amy, LOVE the pics. I adore other people's travel pics. If they cover places I've been (as some of these do) it's a chance to relive and find out what's changed and get all excited about visiting again. And if it's a place I don't know it's a chance to find out all about it and get excited about the possibility of going there!
