There's nothing like holding your first published book in your hands—the knowledge that a dream has finally come true, that the characters you've known and loved for so long will be shared with readers. I expected those feelings the first time around with Contract for Marriage, but I wasn't expecting all that and more for book number two.
Dishing up Desire is my brand new release this week and I couldn't be more excited about seeing it on the virtual shelves. Here's the blurb:
The book is available on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Kobo and all major book E-taliers!
Kirin doesn’t need a makeover—her fans love her as she is. But she could lose everything if the sex scandal and reputation that has followed doesn’t get quashed right away. Kirin agrees to let model-perfect Blake work his magic for two weeks, but things get complicated when she can’t deny the way her body flares to life whenever he’s near.
I think the thing this time around is that since my first book came out I’ve had readers asking for the next book, and if my new story would be similar to the last. Knowing those readers were anticipating this story being out as much as I was makes the excitement of launch week all the greater.
To celebrate book number two, I'd love to hear what you're looking forward to the most. AND I have a different sort of prize to give away to two commenters - something to give your eReader a makeover - an exclusive Barbara DeLeo screen cleaner. Aren't they cute?
Oh Barb, Dishing Up Desire sounds great. Being an ex-PRer I can't wait to read it.ReplyDelete
I'm looking forward to my next holiday. I love, love, love to travel and go somewhere new. I'm researching where to go next so all very exciting.
Thanks, Jen! Have fun researching your next holiday! Blake was my ideal for a perfect PR guy ;-)ReplyDelete
Your screen cleaners are gorgeous, Barb!!! And congratulations on your new release. It sounds fab.ReplyDelete
At the moment I'm looking forward to 2 rather exciting events. The RWAust Conference in Fremantle next month + a couple of weeks in Europe later in the year. Makes me smile just to think about it. :-)
So jealous that I won't be in Freo, Michelle! I'll just have to look forward to next year's conference. Loos like the Lovecats are in travel mode this time of the year! Have a great time away.ReplyDelete
Clearly Michelle and I are proving our twins-separated-at-birth relationship by both being excited about the Freo conference. Its 5 weeks today until I leave on the train for Perth!!!Oh wait - 5 weeks today I'll have been on ther train for a few hours!! I hope to have read one book by this time in 5 weeks! And it's probably going to be yours cos I just dowloaded it to my iPad :-)ReplyDelete
Mega congrats on your 2nd release - here's to many more!
Thanks so much, Amy! Every time I hear about that luxury train trip I get a little bit greener..Will be thinking of you doing lots of reading as the world rushes by.ReplyDelete
Barbara, huge congratulations on your brand new release! Fab premise, fab cover and fab title! I hope it will be a runaway success for you!ReplyDelete
Those screen cleaners are seriously gorgeous! What a great idea for a promo!
I feel like it would be an awful cheek to say I'm looking forward to our next holiday since I've just come back from one... but what the heck! And it's such fun tossing around some tentative plans!
Thanks so much, Sharon! Yes, Sharon and I can't believe how well I can see the words on my Kondle, now!ReplyDelete
You've upheld the Lovecats reputation for being traveling kitties. Have great fun planning!
Congratulations on your new book! It looks terrific - and sounds it too! I love the screen cleaner too - so handy and pretty.
What am I looking forward to? Getting time to finish the last chapter of this draft and then somehow wangling a day of quiet time to myself to do nothing! Not sure it will happen but I'm hoping.
Thanks for the congrats, Annie! All the best with the last chapter and do enjoy taking some time out afterwards.ReplyDelete
So glad to see Dishing Up Desire out in the world! I loved this book (as evidenced by the cover quote :)) and I bet a whole heap of readers will too.ReplyDelete
I'm also looking forward to the Freo conference. Can't wait!
I feel very fortunate to have such a gorgeous cover quote, Rachel! I'm so jealous that all of you LCs will be in Freo without me! Have a fantastic time.ReplyDelete
