And now for today's Sunday Smooch from Nocturne Bite One Night with the Wolf by Anna Hackett...
Werewolf Jade Thorne needs a man—a young, virile man to give her love and pleasure. As a rare female alpha, she must keep her pack safe by pledging herself in marriage to an aging leader from a rival pack. Until then, she wants to experience the raging passion of a wolf in his prime. She even has an ideal lover at hand: her Second, Christian Tallant.
But Christian is a wolf who will demand to dominate her body, mind and soul. Now Jade must decide if she can afford to submit to his desire—and if one night with the wolf will really be enough....
He growled in her ear. “Tell me what you want.”
Jade stared blindly at the moon partly hidden by the treetops. Her lips parted. What did she want? She wasn’t sure anymore. Not with this man’s hands on her.
His fingers toyed with the next button but didn’t open it. “Say it.”
“Pleasure,” she choked out.
He undid another button. The night air was cool on her skin.
“Desire.” She rubbed against him. “Heat.”
“What do you really want?”
A sob caught in her throat. “You.”
With a muttered curse, his hand slashed down and ripped the remaining buttons from her shirt. He spun her, yanking her hard against his chest.
Rough hands tangled in her hair, angling her face up to his.
Her gaze clashed with liquid golden eyes.
Christian called himself all kinds of names and fool wasn’t the worst of them. He would damn himself tonight, but at least for one night, Jade would be his.
“Don’t talk. You want pleasure, I’ll give it to you.”
She shuddered. Indecision warred on her face. They both knew they shouldn’t do this.
Then her hands ran across his shoulders. “Show me.”
He crushed his lips to hers, thrusting his tongue into the warm welcome of her mouth. He plundered, he tasted and her head dropped back from the onslaught.
Too rough. He reined in his raging desire. He gentled the kiss, made it an exploration. Her tongue mated with his, strokes that made the blood rush to his groin.
Breaking off the kiss, he let his mouth slide down her neck. She smelled so good and the taste of her skin was mind-blowing. Her hands moved to the back of his head, scraping over his short hair.
How many times had he imagined this? Her is his arms, surrendering to his desire?
One Night with the Wolf has just been released and is available for download from eHarlequin and other ebooksellers.
To be in the draw to win a free download of One Night with the Wolf, name a famous werewolf from history, myth or fiction!
Come back next Sunday, when the winner of today's giveaway will be announced -- and a smooch from Friends to Forever by Nikki Logan will be posted!
I do love me a great werewolf and seeing as it is early Sunday morning and the mind is still partially asleep the werewolf that come to my mind is Greyback from Harry PotterReplyDelete
Ooh, Anna, I loved that smooch. Intensity and gentleness mingled together. I have a feeling that this pair are going to be scorchin' hot together. :-)ReplyDelete
I agree with Michelle - you get the passion but also the underlying caring - love that!ReplyDelete
Hmmm... famous werewolves? All I can think of is an American one in Paris...
Pheww-ee, Anna, the blurb hooked me and the smooch had me fanning myself - wow, that was hot. So much conveyed in such a small scene. Verrryyyy nice!ReplyDelete
Famous werewolf? Hmm, how about Lucian from the Underworld series (Rise of the Lycans)? I love the tragedy involved in his romance.
There's also a cool SFR series written by Jordan Summers (RED, CRIMSON & SCARLET) where the main characters are both werewolves. The heroine's name is Red (links to her job as an enforcer as well as her shape-shifting and a vague reference to Little Red Riding Hood).
Hey, and didn't Michael Jackson turn into a werewolf in his Thriller video?
Huh, got carried away commenting and forgot to thank Emily for the Sentinel Mage give-away win! Woohoo! Can't wait to turn those pages!!!ReplyDelete
Hi Helen --ReplyDelete
Ooh, Greyback is a nasty werewolf. Glad to hear you like a great werewolf. Enjoy your Sunday.
Yep, these two are a scorching hot pair. They were so easy to write (-:
Hi Natalie --ReplyDelete
Thanks! You and Michelle made my day enjoying the mix of passion and caring in my smooch (-:
An American Werewolf in Paris is a classic.
Hi Kylie --ReplyDelete
Glad you enjoyed the smooch! Big part of writing short stories is conveying as much as you can with every word, sentence and scene.
You've mentioned some *great* werewolves. I also loved Lucian and his bitterweet love story. Thanks for the tip on Jordan Summers -- I'll have to check out her werewolves. And yep, even MJ got in on the werewolf act.
I also wanted to thank Emily for posting my smooch!ReplyDelete
Kylie -- hope you enjoy The Sentinel Mage.
Nice Anna! =))ReplyDelete
Like Kylie I thought of Lucian too. I really enjoyed the crossing of species.
Liked the super hot smooch!ReplyDelete
Famous werewolf? But not sure if it can be said he's from history! Tayler Lautner from The Twilight series!
I love this smooch, Anna! As Michelle said, I love the intensity and the gentleness! Christian is definitely hero material!ReplyDelete
A famous werewolf? Um ... Willow's boyfriend in Buffy??? Does he count?
Lucian was great. And you have some great werewolves of your own this month! Congrats on the release of Moon Thrall.
Hi Nas --ReplyDelete
Glad you enjoyed the smooch!
Yes, Jacob from Twilight definitely counts. I believe there are several million young (and not so long) girls who'd consider him a favorite.
Hi Emily --ReplyDelete
So pleased you loved the smooch. Christian was a wonderful hero to write and Jade is a perfect match for him.
Oz was the werewolf in Buffy! Yep, he counts.
Phee-yew, Anna! I'd forgotten how much I loved Christian when I first read One Night. I'm going to have to read it again, to remind myself. Can't wait!ReplyDelete
Now, don't enter me in the draw, but can I mention Wolverine from X-Men? I realise he's not strictly a werewolf--but I thought I'd get bonus points for the Hugh Jackman mention! :)
Congrats on One Night release. Its a fabulous read.
Hi Em --ReplyDelete
Hope you enjoy One Night (and Christian) the second time around (-:
You had to mention Hugh!!! Wolvy's not a werewolf but he has that same animal magnetism werewolves have, so I think he counts.
Scorching smooch! I almost said, 'no!' to the screen when I got to the end of it and realised that was the end of the post, lol.ReplyDelete
I'm another vote for Oz in Buffy. So adorable, so lethal. :)
