CATWALK - Caption Contest!

 Fiona Lowe's Pekoe!

with Sharon Archer

 CAPTION ME TO WIN!

Today on the LoveCats Catwalk we're featuring author
Fiona Lowe's beautiful bundle of mischief! And as an extra treat, Fiona's generously giving away a copy of a Christmas romance, her Mills & Boon Medical Romance, The Most Magical Gift of All, to one of our clever captioners!  Details at the bottom of the post...  But for now...

Take it away, Pekoe!

 Name
Pekoe because I am a  ginger cat and white cat. I heard the family throwing around a variety of names from Cumquat and Marmalade to Shandy but then the Big Dad said, what about  Orange Pekoe. They dropped the orange and I get Peeks for short or the Peekganter for long or often I get called ‘NO!’ and sprayed with water.

Abode
I have heard my cat tree called ‘The Hilton’

 Human Slave
All four Lowes and any visiting persons

Likes
chasing super light balls and toilet rolls

 Dislikes
One litter tray. I require two. One for each business, I mean, really who would mix it.

Ambition
To advance beyond a series of closed doors.

Sociable or Aloof
I greet everyone each morning with lots of hellos and I spend the day with Big Mum if she is in the office. At night I am often busy chasing things but when I am weary I like to sit under a chair or sit on a lap. Right now I am sleeping behind Big Mum on the chair.

Night Owl or Early Bird
I wake up when the house wakes up and I go to bed when the house goes to bed….at least that’s what the Lowe’s think when they close the doors at night.

What do you like to sharpen your claws on?
I have a cat tree. If I try other things I get called ‘NO’ and sprayed with water

Most embarrassing moment
Getting locked in the pantry.

So get busy with those captions for Pekoe's first photograph to be in the running to win Fiona's gorgeous Christmas book!

The Most Magical Gift Of All
by Fiona Lowe

Backcover:
Dr. Jack Armitage can't wait to spend the Christmas holidays on a beach sipping cocktails. But his much-deserved vacation is delayed when an unexpected gift is left on his doorstep...a little girl! Reformed bad boy Jack is great with kids, but only when they're his patients.

Dr. Sophie Norman is Jack's temporary replacement, but this single gal didn't expect her new duties to involve being a stand-in mom! Jack needs all the help that Sophie can give him. While doing their best to ensure this little girl has a magical Christmas, they find the most magical gift of all -- a family.

Thanks for letting your delicious Pekoe visit, Fiona!

  5. Pekoe you are the cutest! (just don't mention I said that to you in front of my cats, OK?)

CAPTION 1: BUSTED!!! Big time, Pekoe!

CAPTION 2: But you said you needed help with the filing!

CAPTION 3: What do you mean this bag isn't my new play pen?

CAPTION 4: Oh, thank goodness you found me! I was walking by this bag when it just sucked me in and now I have my paw caught down here...can you help me get it out? (that's my story and I'm sticking to it)

I think I'd better stop there, Fiona. Thanks for the fun!

  6. I forgot to mention - it's nice to see Pekoe has good taste (choosing a Dymocks bag as his sleeping bag). :-)

  7. Kylie, I hope you covered your cats' ears! You could be in big trouble! Busted, in fact! ;)

ROFL at your caption ideas - "the bag sucked me in" - as good as "the dog ate my homework"!

    :)

  8. Kylie!! I am in AWE, awe I say. My brain always freezes at things like this. My fave of your top picks are 'I thought you needed help with the filing'

Pekoe is in disgrace today so that will cheer her up

  9. Caption:
"Are you sure you want to recycle the part about the cute kitten in your manuscript? I mean, it could be a deal-breaker."

I enjoyed the contest, the photos and the other comments. Too adorable.

I love, love, love your Pekoe!! I'm partiall to marmalade cats. Once had two - Peaches and Apri-cat. I'm sure you new baby will have the bestest kind of Christmas!
    Thanks for dropping in, Fi!

  11. Hey, Natalie - isn't Pekoe just the cutest! Mind you with Fiona's last comment the butter-wouldn't-melt look is obviously very deceiving!

Fiona, we're so tickled to have you and Pekoe visit today! So tell us how Pekoe blotted her copybook.

  12. Oh, good one, Sherri! Nice caption tie in for an author's cat!

Hey, Fiona, is Pekoe going to get a staring role in one of your books?

  13. Hiya Sharon! Hiya Fiona! Hey, aren't you moonlighting over at the Romance Bandits right now? Hiya Pekoe. Very cute name! AWWWWWW to those gorgeous photos. They really gave me a smile on this rainy Queensland morning.

  14. Pekoe is adorable!

How about: "I did read your story. And let me tell you, I'm shocked. Shocked and disturbed."

I like Sherri's one about the deleted cute cat being the deal breaker, Ellen's one about making more room, and Kylie's being sucked in one. Such a creative group!

  15. Hey, Anna, I'm so glad we brought a smile on your damp grey morning up there. Isn't the name clever - perfect for a ginger kitty!

  17. Thanks, Robbie. I am a bit worried about the Christmas Tree this year. I think we will have to wall it off or Pekoe will try and climb it!

  18. Sharon, I am not sure you really want to know how badly she blotted her copy book cos it might make you love her less.

  19. Anna, I got three invitations in the one week! From famine to blog feast :-) Sorry to hear about the rain and glad Pekoe cheered you up

  20. LOL, Rachel. At the rate I am going this week, Pekoe would be shocked if I actually DID some writing.

  21. Nikki, I LOVE 'My precious'. Mind you, those words were in recycling so not sure how precious they really were ;-)

  22. Fiona your kitten is soooo cute!!

Caption: "but but but...you love me!"

  23. LOL Fiona, your Pekoe is adorable! I especially love the two litter trays. My Theo has decided anything newspapery is fair game when it comes to doing his business. As for your Christmas tree, I don't want to alarm you but I think you better fix it to the wall!!

  24. Hi, LoveCats and Fiona!

Awww, what a gorgeous little chap you've got there, Fiona! Too cute for words, which is why I can't think of a clever caption! Just how did you train Pekoe to use a cat tree? I've got one cat who scratches soft furnishings and another who loves anything made of timber.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Mel, that sounds like an excellent caption for the Pekoe of the Blotted Copy-book!

Christina, very VERY good advice about the Christmas tree! LOL

Argh, Vanessa, our feline friends are so hard on the furniture with that scratching, aren't they!

  26. Thanks, Mel, she is cute and entertaining.!

  27. Pekoe is just GORGEOUS!! And I am in awe of everyone else's captions. I don't have any captions to add, but I'm going to go back at look at Pekoe's pictures again -- such an adorable wee creature!

Beautiful cat, but looking mighty guilty.

  29. Hi Fiona,
Aw Pekoe is such a cutie! I've heard so much about this little darling cat, and she lives up to expectations. Her cheeky little face in that first pic reminds me of Mary Anne Fahey's character in the Comedy Company - where she played a three year old girl (I Googled it and found out her name was "Jophesine"). Her catchphrase was:

    "I-I-I-I didn't..."

I don't need to be entered into the draw as I have already read your wonderful book!!

Sharon, thanks for having Fiona and Pekoe as your special guest bloggers.

  30. Dear Pekoe, I wish they had cuddle-through computers--I so want to pat you, you precious boy!
Hi Fiona and Lovecats--there's nothing more guaranteed to make you laugh than the antics of a kitten. Thank you for introducing Pekoe to your readers! xx

    Em, isn't Pekoe adorable!

Kandy, cuddle-through computers! I wonder when those will be available!

  33. Hi Fiona and Sharon ~ Pekoe is sooooo adorable. I am not a caption person. My husband wanted to tell you that if you are recycling Pekoe we would like him. That would be almost impossible as we live in Canada. We've had two orange and white cats in our lives Sesame and Amber. We now have a ginger cat called Dash, The Incredible Pest. when we got him he weighed 2.2 pounds and now he weighs around 18 pounds. What is cute at 2.2 pounds is not so cute at 18 pounds.

In the spirit of Alfred E. Neuman I'll enter: "What me worry!"

    ReplyDelete
  34. Hey, Kaelee! I was a MAD fan too! LOL

Your ginger Dash sounds like he might be a force to be reckoned with - and at 18lbs, I imagine you'd notice when he sits on you! Nice and warm though with winter coming up in your part of the world!

    :)

  35. Hi Fiona and Sharon,

Sorry to be late at the party. Thanks for sharing the pics of Pekoe, Fiona. Lovely! How distracting to have a lovely new, fascinating cat around.

Just wanted to say how much I liked the description of your Christmas release. What a great set up for a romance! Looking forward to this one.

  36. I was out at school Christmas service and then my book group dinner so, sorry to be late reponding. Big wave to Kandy, Annie and Emily. Kaelee, I think Dash is zpekoe's middle name!! As I write this she is dashing between my office and the Laundry, clearing air as she launches herself off the spiral stairs.

    Marybelle, great caption!

  37. Now what is it a about ginger kittens that just screams MISCHIEF! ?

Pekoe -- we are indeed honoured to have you visit the loveCats and I wish you many open doors in your future! :-)

Now, because Pekoe is the kitten of a writer, I expect that she might be a reader. So my caption is: Aww, can't I read just one more page before lights out?

Thanks for bring Pekoe to visit, Fiona!
