And now for today's Sunday Smooch from Stefanie London’s Entangled Lovestruck novella, The Rules According to Gracie.

Back cover blurb:
Gracie Green has a shopping list for men. Career, financials, family...and a long list of rules to determine a guy's suitability. She's already disappointed her socialite mother once—now Gracie needs to find Mr. Perfect. Too bad she keeps getting distracted by her super-sexy, six-feet-of-tattooed-hotness friend, Des, who is so many shades of Mr. Wrong…

Bar owner Des Chapman has vowed never again to get involved with society girls. Yet he's irresistibly drawn to Gracie—those lush curves, those lips, and her ridiculous ability to date the wrong guys. As Gracie's discouragement grows, Des realizes it's time to show her what she reallyneeds in a man—and it has nothing to do with a briefcase and generous bank account. He'll teach Gracie the Rules According To Des…even if it means breaking his rule in the process.

Set Up
Sick of seeing Gracie be disappointed with the guys she dates, Des offers to take her out so she can find the kind of guy who’s going to make her happy and get out of her rut. Only he secretly wants Gracie all for himself.

At the end of the night it’s clear that there’s a spark between them, but Gracie is resisting her attraction to Des. Luckily, he’s not the kind of guy who’s afraid to make the first move.

“What are we doing, Des?” It wasn’t something he could answer, but she had to fill the void of silence before it sucked her in. Before it consumed her right there on the spot.

“I’m not sure what you’re doing, but I’m going out on a limb.”

“I don’t like the sound of that.”

“I’m breaking my rule.”

“I thought you didn’t have any.” A smile quirked on her mouth.

“I have one…had one.” He grabbed her hand and closed the last of the space between them.

Her fingers were knotted with his; heat raced through her veins.
As his mouth met hers, her mind went blank. There was nothing but the insistent press of his lips as he opened her, tasted her. She should have resisted. For a split second she wanted to resist, but his hands moved to her back, crushing her to him. She was powerless.

He kissed like he meant it, like he wanted to savor every second of it. His tongue delved gently into her, teasing, taunting, coaxing. But it wasn’t until he moved his hips against her, the evidence of his arousal jutting into her belly, that she sagged into his chest and let him in.

“Gracie,” he moaned into her mouth. His hands slid down her back, cupping her ass and lifting her slightly. Each subtle movement of his hips shot flames through her. She was unravelling. Fast.

“Des, I think—”

“Don’t think.” It was a command, without room for negotiation.

His lips were at her cheek, her temple, her hairline. She slid her hands into his hair, tugging him so his lips came back to hers. A tremor ran through him, a tremor she’d caused.

Excitement danced like fairy lights behind her eyelids. Her world was tilting; solid ground shifted beneath her feet.

“Come home with me.” The words were whispered like a secret in her ear, an invitation to undo her laces and break down her boundaries.

“I can’t…” If she did then she would never be the same. Des would ruin her for other men. After experiencing him, her world would be gray. It was too risky. “We’re not right for each other.”

Gracie is stuck in a dating rut and Des is the one to help her break out of that. What's the most interesting, unusual or downright weird date that you've been on?

Leave a comment and you could win a ebook copy of The Rules According to Gracie.

Come back next Sunday, when the winner of today's giveaway will be announced and another smooch will be posted!

  1. Hi Stefanie

I have this one waiting for me on my kindle can't wait to read it :)

I don't think I have any weird dates I have been with my hubby since I was 15 so nothing out of the ordinary that I can remember LOL

    Congrats on this one

    Have Fun

    1. I hope you enjoy it Helen! I know what you mean, I've been with my husband since we were 19 so I don't have many stories either :)

  2. Another fabulous book by Stefanie London. I can't wait to read it.

I have had weird dates in my life. One stands out in my memory. It was a double first date with a girlfriend. After dinner, we all went back to her house for coffee. We were all sitting on the floor by the low coffee table. Both guys ended up sitting on the floor on either side of her, brushing her long dark hair, commenting on how soft it was, how good it felt. I felt like an extra wheel in a menage- a- trois . . . I was staying the night, so I took myself off to bed. No I don't know what happened after that . . . I didn't ask, and we never spoke about it again! Yes I am still friends with her, but I did not see the men again. She is happily married now.

    1. Wow, that is a strange story! Thanks for sharing Savannah.

  3. Wonderful smooch, Stefanie.

I don't think I've been on any really weird dates. My (now) husband and I went on a skiing holiday in France after knowing each other for a very short time...not weird, but maybe a little usual???

    1. Thanks Jen :) I guess when you know the person is 'the one' the time frames don't matter so much!

  4. Ooh, lovely smooch, Stef!

Weird dates? I'm sure I must've had a few. One "incident" that sticks in my mind is when my date turned to me and said..."You know how I said I was separated. That's not strictly speaking true. My wife is currently in the Blue Mountains looking after my ill father. Does that change things." Uh, what do you think?!# Yeah, I caught a cab home. Alone. ;-)

    1. Oh wow, how would he think that doesn't change things? Sounds like you made the right move, Michelle!

  5. Didn't do much dating - like Helen I'm a bit of a romantic lifer. A friend of mine went on a few dates with a guy a long time ago and on the 4th date they ended up taking it a step further. After a rather pleasant....interlude in her bedroom...he took out his teeth put them on the bedside table and rolled over and went to sleep! She and I are still laughing about that one :-)

And I definitely dibs it in a book one day!

    1. LOL I would have no idea how to react in that situation - you definitely need to put it into a book!!

  6. Lovely smooch!!!

I went on a first date where he turned up with his mother. Very Norman Bates!! No second date thank you.

    1. Eeep! That is a little creepy, isn't it? Thanks for sharing, Mary :)

  7. Oooo, super Smooch, Stefanie! I'm loving Des and Gracie!

Not really any weird dates... that I can remember anyway. Perhaps I've blanked them out of my mind! LOL I did foolishly go on a short hiking/camping holiday with a boyfriend - badly planned, miles from anywhere, unsuitable footwear, heavy pack! Needless to say, it wasn't a resounding success!

    1. Thanks Sharon! :) Oh I've been there before, my husband loves camping and I've gone along a few times but I always forget something important.

  8. looking forward to reading this book I seem to have been married for most of my life so no weird dates --congratulations on the book---Lyn

  9. Stefanie, I have this one on my Kindle and can't wait to dive into it.
