I have a book trailer! And I couldn't be more thrilled with it. :) All the technical smarts were Nikki Logan's (I swear, that woman is a goddess), and we've been working on it on and off for a year. But it's finally here and I feel a bit like I did when I saw my first book cover - wanting to just watch it over and over. Happy sigh.
So, in the spirit of talking about trailers, have you seen a trailer lately that really hooked you? I'm quite enamoured with The Avengers trailer - I think we'll be off to the movies when that one starts playing!
Oh, Rach, your trailer is dreamily gorgeous and so evocative! Happy sighs. I want to keep watching it over and over too! Nikki is indeed one clever goddess.
The last trailer I loved? Hmm, I don't see many, but I did catch a snippet of Peter Jackson's The Hobbit. Can't wait for that. :-)
Yay!! And super thanks for all the special guest stars (and guest handbags). And you know that saying about 'if you want something done give it to a busy person'? No. Just...no. That's why it took both of us a year - heh. But I'm thrilled that you're thrilled, Rach.
Robyn, you're right - Nikki could *so* have a future in movies - another medium of storytelling! Maybe she could do movie versions of some great romances. =)
Nikki said: "And you know that saying about 'if you want something done give it to a busy person'? No. Just...no. That's why it took both of us a year - heh." This made me laugh out loud. So true!!
Rachel - fabulous trailer. What a wonderful way to showcase your great books. The one movie trailer that got me hooked was the recent War Horse . . . I just had to see the movie after that, and wasn't disappointed.
Warhorse... Nikki saw the live version in New York last year and said it was *fabulous*, but it wasn't for me, lol. I'm such a softie when it comes to animals. In fact, even its blurb brings tears to my eyes. Glad to hear you weren't disappointed - it sounds like a story that is good to be told, and for lots of people to see.
Love your trailer, Rachel. Good job to you and Nikki (yes, she does deserve godhood status).
Last trailer I saw - The Avengers and like you Rachel, I'm definitely going to see it. It also has the extra benefit of being directed by the legend that is Joss Whedon.
Eleni, the Joss Whedon factor is absolutely 70% of why I'm excited. :) We'd already seen the Ironman movies, and since then, in preparation for The Avengers, we've recently watched Thor and will soon see Captain America. Can't wait for TA!
Btw, I'm still thrilled about your novella, Eleni. Couldn't happen to a nicer person. =)

Oh, that's turned out beautifully :) Love the RWA stars of the show!! Congrats Rachel and Nikki - super job. I could sit and watch it for ages.

Michelle, perhaps we could take a vote to put Nikki up on a pedestal somewhere? Or a statue! That would be fun. :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen The Hobbit's trailer! Must go search it out.
Cath, I *know*! Happy sigh. And thanks for your moral support on the filming day. :)
ReplyDeleteRachel and Nikki, what a brilliant job you've done! This is tremendous. No wonder you're chuffed!
ReplyDeleteNikki, what a brilliant job!! Rachel you must be so happy with it. Nikki, ever considered a career in Hollywood ;)

ReplyDeleteAnnie, I have to admit, Nikki is the one with both the technical skills and the creative vision. I was more the get-in-the-way girl of the team. ;)
