Catwalk Wednesday

Name: Freddie (I’m a girl) Daddy wanted a Boxer called Fred, Mummy wanted a Lab. When Daddy went trekking in Nepal, Mummy went and got me from my dog mummy and called me Freddie. She says it’s a nice compromise.

Human Slave: CC Coburn

Likes: Escaping and going swimming in the lake at the bottom of my garden. Lots of black swans swim there, but I don’t think they like me joining in their games.

Dislikes: I didn’t know there was such a word.

Favourite Pastimes: Walkies, Drivies, Swimmies, Chasing cats

Best Friend: Tommy the Tabby. He loves to wind himself around and under me and swipe his tail across my face. Unfortunately, I’m allergic to cats. There are two other cats living with me but I don’t think they like me very much.

Most embarrassing moment: Labradors know no embarrassment, but my Slaves get very embarrassed when I lie on my back with my legs spread apart. Particularly when other slaves come to visit.

Kisses,

Freddie!

  1. Freddie, you're a star! Don't those swans know you're only doing what nature intended - trying to retrieve them from the water?

  2. Freddie, you sound like you've got things set up perfectly in the Coburn household! AND a lake at the bottom of the garden! You are one lucky dog!

  4. Freddie, you are one happy dog. And wasn't it lucky your male slave went trekking to Nepal when he did!? You're a beautiful Lab =)

  5. Freddie, you are quite the star! Besides adding eaties to your list of favorite past times, surely you could add ball chasingies, too. :) The swans don't know what they're missing. You are a luv!

  6. Freddie, it's very nice to meet you! I grew up with Labs (and my Oliver is part black lab) so I laughed out loud over your comments like, "Labradors know no embarrassment". So true. =)

It sounds like you have a fabulous set up at the Coburn house! But you tell your female slave that lying on your back with your legs spread is a delightful way for a Lab to lie, especially in the summer. ;)

  7. HI Freddie
I haven't had the pleasure of meeting you yet. You are welcome to come and visit with your slaves, but you will have to learn your place amongst the pecking order. In our house dogs come under chickens and cats.
    Best
    Cathleen

  8. Freddie also enjoys snuggles, guarding the stairs, secretly getting food from the table, rolling around in sand, barking at the night, not smiling for photographs and visiting me! How could you forget that?

  9. PS you forgot her full name is Frederika Anastacia Francesca Coburn and she sneezes when she is happy...cute picture by the way!

  10. Hi Christina! Those swans aren't friendly at all, here I was swimming out excitedly to join them and what did they do? turned around and hissed at me and chased me out of the lake! I was so scared I swam all the way back home and was very glad to getting a telling off from my mum on that occasion!

  11. Hello Sharon, that's a nice name, nearly as nice as Freddie! Lots of people tell my mu that they want to come back in the next life as one of her pets. I wonder why?
    come swimmies with me sometime?

  12. Hi Jan, I do enjoy eaties, but my Slaves are very strict aobut my diet as apparently Labs are prone to becomming overweight (have no idea how!) My favourite foods are roast chicken, lamb any way I can get it, leftover spaghetti bolognaise, leftover cat food, leftover cats...
    Yummy!

  13. Hi Mel, and thank you so saying such lovely things about me. Do you have a dog friend? We could meet on facebook.

Hello Carol! I do enjoy chasing balls, but cats are more fun. :-)

  14. Hi Rachel, Can I have a doggie date with Oliver please? H esounds a very handsome fellow and please tell him there's no risk of pregnancy! I'll try not to greet him lying on my back with my feet in the air. :-)

Hey Cathleen, I'd love to come and play with your chickens and cats. And any other things that move.
    loving licks!

  15. Hello SunnyBubba, my sister Slave. You're right, I do enjoy rolling in the sand after a surf. Thank you for reminding me. However, I rarely bark, so i don't know whose dog you're confusing me with. :-((((
I do sneeze when I'm excited. This is apparently a Lab trait, so it proves my pedigree!
    hugs, Freddie!

  16. Oh Freddie, you are hilarious, gregarious and beautiful. Those swans don't know what they're missing! And you tell your Mum that you're working on your suntan when you expose your belly like that. What a star :-)

  17. Hi Freddie, I've known your number one female slave for quite a few years now. She has often spoken in hushed and reverent tones about she-who-must-be-obeyed otherwise known as Freddie. I'm glad you are able to keep her in control. Not everyone is as successful. You are very beautiful, I might have to write you into one of my books one day. I'm not sure you would like me much though as I am always covered in cat hair and might make you sneeze...

  18. Me? In a book! Even my slave hasn't offered to do such a nice thing for me, Kandy. I... suppose I could put up with the cat hairs in order to be famous.
Cath I did a LOT of sunbaking today. Tummy is nice and pink!
