As I finish writing my tenth contracted book for Harlequin Special Edition, I think about how lucky I have been and the wonderful author friends I've made along the way, and how blessed I've been to have connected with readers all over the world.
I've also been fortunate to be part of the new LoveCats Box Set called Hot Christmas Nights. Seven authors, seven brand new novellas. Available for Pre-order here....
There are many milestones in our lives - birthdays, weddings, anniversaries...and for an author, selling that first book and/or seeing that first book on the shelf.
Are there any milestones you like to celebrate? Do you have a big birthday coming up? An anniversary?
Leave a comment and I will draw one winner to receive any book from my backlist (Including my January 2016 release Three Reasons To Wed)
Happy reading!
Happy anniversary, Helen, and congratulations!
ReplyDeleteHi Yvonne - thanks so much :)
DeleteWhat a wonderful anniversary, Helen! Congratulations. :-)
ReplyDeleteLaughing at your question because the only milestone I want to celebrate at the moment is my current book (but the end is in sight!). :-)
Doh! That's supposed to be 'FINISHING' my current book. ;-)
DeleteHi Michelle - yes, I know that feeling :)
DeleteWoohoo Helen happy anniversary I am so glad they bought the book because it has meant many good stories for us readers :) oh and I am looking forward to the new one
ReplyDeleteFor me I celebrated a milestone just this week November 18th was the first anniversary of me retiring and I am so glad I did :)
Have Fun
Helen
Hi Helen - thank you for your lovely words :) Hope you enjoy the latest book. And yay on retiring....more time to read!
DeleteCongratulations Helen on your publishing anniversary! That's definitely worth celebrating.
ReplyDeleteOne anniversary I always celebrate is November 11. Not just because it's Remembrance Day with all the reasons we have to remember. But because on that day 27 years ago, my husband and I got officially engaged. That's nice, you might say. But it happened on exactly the day a fortune teller had told me eight years previously that I would start a new cycle of my life with the love of my life. Spooky! I hadn't thought about that prediction for years and didn't realise the significance of the day until hours later. (We're still together, BTW!)
HI Kandy - what a great thing to celebrate. And congratulations on 27 years together, that's awesome :)
DeleteThe motorcycle club called me Wednesday to tell me they are throwing hubby a surprise 50th for hubby with lobsters. Lol. Love parties but they now that it's too much for me to do and plan this year so they took over and are doing it all for him. (100+strokes i had last year ) we have terrific friends !
ReplyDeleteHi Diana - what a wonderful surprise for your hubby, and how awesome that your friends are so supportive. Enjoy the party! :)
DeleteHi Helen Happy anniversary and congratulations!!
ReplyDeleteNext year on Oct 10th 2016 my hubby and I will have our 30th Anniversary, we're looking forward to it.
Happy Thanksgiving
Penney

DeleteCongratulations, Helen. Lovely to celebrate this milestone.
ReplyDeleteI like celebrating wedding anniversaries, not with gifts but with a romantic meal.
I also celebrate each book sold.
Hi Annie - celebrating every book sold is awesome. And romantic dinners are the best :)
DeleteCongratulations and Happy Anniversary Helen. I like to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries, but right now not there are, are all in the first months of the year.
ReplyDeleteHi Franca - it's lovely to be able to celebrate birthday's and anniversaries :)
DeleteThis is why you never give up. Congratulations!!!
ReplyDeleteEvery birthday is a big deal in our family. Considering the longevity of family members that's a lot of partying.
Hi Mary - yes, never give up was my mantra for two decades LOL. And yay to all that partying....enjoy! :)
DeleteOther than the main big birthdays and things like graduations, I can't think of any other milestones that I celebrate.
ReplyDeleteGreat milestone for you to celebrate and I'm sure it made everyone of your rejections feel worth the effort to write.

Hi Grandma Cootie (which is now officially the coolest blogger name I have seen) And huge congratulations on your upcoming 50th....that's amazing :)
