While there are a few final tweaks to be finished such as a new window seat and my 1960s chairs to be recovered (in the most beautiful turquoise wool fabric) for the most part it's finished and I'mso pleased with it. Wanna peek?

Now that all that excitement is over I'm tempted to read a renovation romance! Do you have one you could recommend? Or would you rather keep your renovating and romancing very separate ;-)
Wow, awesome, Barb. Well worth the pain-in-the-backside process to get to the end result. Think we need a meeting at your house soon.
ReplyDeleteLaughing about a renovation romance after you had four fights! exaggerated, I'm sure.
Exaggerating! Me, Sue?? Ha, ha. Yes, definitely a meeting at mine soon.
DeleteThat looks fab Barbara and I bet worth it all :) love it you must be very happy at the moment and as for some reno romance try Beth Andrews I am sure she did some HM&B stories that involved renovations and Kate Carlisle has some cosy mysteries involving renovations.
ReplyDeleteHave Fun
Helen
Thanks for the recommendations, Helen. I haven't read a Kate Carlisle for a while so I must look her up. The new laundry goes in this week and then it really will be all worth it.
DeleteBarbara, it looks fabulous! What a satisfying feeling it must be.
ReplyDeleteRenovation romance? I don't think I know any!
Thanks so much, Kandy. Funnily enough, my last book was a renovation romance and I have another yet to be published. There's a lotta good conflict in a renovation!!
DeleteThat looks fantastic Barbara. Bet it feel great to have it pretty much finished.
ReplyDeleteDon't know of any reno romances but you've now got me curious.
I guess I'd call The Bouquet list a reno romance, Lyn?? Makes me want to write another :)
DeleteOoh, looks fab, Barb! That said, I can hear your relief that it's pretty much done. Still, it looks like the hassle has been worth it. :-)
ReplyDeleteRenovation romance -- what about A Basic Renovation by Sandra Antonelli?
OMG yes yes yes!!! That was one of the best books I read last year, Michelle!
DeleteSo. Damn. Good.
DEFINITELY looking up Sandra's book. Thanks for the reco, ladies!
DeleteWOW Barb! It looks sooooo good! You must be thrilled with it!
ReplyDeleteKelly Hunter has a reno romance which was fab called What a Bachelor Needs.
Thanks, Amy! The day they started and realized they'd have to take down a whole chimney I wasn't so happy but am very pleased now :) Ooh, and I haven't read that one of Kelly's so off to find it now. Thanks!
DeleteThat looks lovely, and hopefully worth all the effort and angst! I don't mind reading a Reno romance; anything well written is always worth the read.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree, Malvina. I love a reno romance.
DeleteWow Barb. Looks so lovely!! Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jenn. Am especially loving the fact that DH and I now have our own TV room :)
DeleteBarb, that looks amazing! I bet you're enjoying the new look space.
ReplyDeleteOff the top of my head I can't think of a restoration romance to recommend but I love the idea. My first ever ms - never published, was one. I love to live the renovation vicariously - without the hard work.
looks great !!!!

ReplyDeleteBarb, I'm not sure what happened to my first comment - I think it had a nasty accident and got gobbled by Blogger! :( Anyway, in essence, I said - gosh, do you want a job organising our next lot of renovations at Chez Archer! You've already finished! And it all looks so great! Well done!
