And now for today's Sunday Smooch from Tempted by the Billionaire Tycoon...

Blurb:

Three strikes and you're out…

A series of strange accidents are occurring at Sirona, a luxury spa resort in the picturesque English countryside. Billionaire owner Nic Capitini wants the person responsible sacked. But the law requires he give three official warnings. Nic checks in undercover to gather the evidence he needs, and when he arrives to find his general manager enjoying the spa's facilities, he doesn't think it will prove very challenging.

Despite first impressions, it isn't long before Nic realises that not only is Poppy Bradford beautiful, she's a brilliant manager who runs the resort superbly. And the chemistry between them is undeniable. When Poppy herself is threatened, it seems clear the incidents are part of a systematic campaign of sabotage. Even though he believes she's innocent, Nic knows Poppy is hiding something. But will learning her secret mean losing her forever?

Tempted by the Billionaire Tycoon is the second story in Jennifer’s Billionaire series.

Scene set-up:

Poppy has just been the victim of one of the terrible sabotage attacks occuring at Nic’s luxury spa resort. Nic is accompanying Poppy home to ensure she is okay.

The Smooch:

Her small hand fitted so perfectly in his. Her soft skin danced a trail of fire across his palm. She slipped her hand from his, but it felt more like a wrench.
‘I’ll be okay from here.’ She took a few steps towards her cottage and paused. She turned and retraced her steps.
‘Thank you for staying with me,’ she whispered. Standing on her toes, she kissed him on the cheek, her perfect body briefly and tantalisingly flush with his own.
He didn’t breathe or move. Didn’t want to break the spell. He grasped her with his arms and held her close. The movement was involuntary. This was a bad idea, but he couldn’t quite remember why.
His body screamed for more time with hers. Her eyes flared with surprise. He waited a moment. Two. Three. She didn’t leave his grip.
‘You call that a thank-you kiss?’ His voice sounded rougher than the bark on the surrounding trees. He bent his head slowly, giving her time to run. Time to decide that this shouldn’t happen. But her body moulded with his and she raised her lips to meet his.
All the reasons to resist hammered to be heard, but nothing rational penetrated.
He kissed her gently. She tasted sweet. So sweet. A sweetness that could become an obsession. Running his hand up her back into her hair, he anchored her to him, deepening the kiss.
Her body moved against him, making his blood run hot and riotous, pumping desire to every cell in his body.
A sharp crack whipped out from the forest. A stick snapping. Poppy slid from his arms, her eyes darting in the direction of the noise. Sense and reason flooded into Nic’s mind. Was he insane? Poppy had suffered a terrible shock and here he was kissing her in the woods like they were on a romantic date. The doctor had ordered rest and he delivered seduction.
‘Poppy, I’m . . .’ An apology battled with his desire for more, so he said nothing.
He took her arm and walked her silently to the cottage. She unlocked the door and stepped into a dim, small room. The house had only one room, with a door leading to a bathroom. A double bed dominated the space. This wasn’t a home, it was a hutch.
The faint smell of coconut and lime tinged the air; the exotic scent such a contrast to the basic surroundings.
The bed, that kiss, the heady scent . . . He needed to get out of there before his body directed him to take action. Action that demanded their clothes off and that bed breaking under the strain of sweet spring sex.

  1. Fab smooch, Jen. I'm finding myself rather drawn to Nic. ;-)

Hmm...favourite holiday indulgence? You know that I eloped and got married in London, spending my honeymoon night in The Dorchester. Well, a few years back we were in London for our anniversary and we went and had dinner at the Dorch. OMG! It cost an arm and a leg, and was the most delicious meal I've ever had. Happy sighs.

  2. I loved Tempted by the Billionaire Tycoon, Jen! The scene that was just before this smooch was amazing too.

You know, I normally like to get out and move around on holidays - get to know a new city or area, but I wouldn't mind visiting Nic and Poppy's luxury health retreat. The hot rock treatment would be fabulous!

  3. I loved this story - count me out of the drawing, I already have this title and won last week anyway.

Honestly can think of a single holiday indulgence unless you count plenty of reading and me time during a staycation.

  4. Love that you loved Nic and Poppy's story, Lyn.

    Reading is a lovely indulgence.

  5. One of the first things I do when I check into a resort is drop by their wellness centre or spa. The best spas are those that indulge you with a glass of wine or a herbal tea after an hour long massage. I must confess to having already booked my two week holiday in Fiji at Christmas. Just my husband and myself for two weeks on Toberua island in a beachfront bure.

  6. Oh Sasha, that holiday sounds amazing!!!

Love the sound of a glass of wine after a massage. I've only ever been offered herbal tea.

  7. Jen, I love your smooch scene! I remember visiting a resort and receiving a complimentary hour's massage and hydro bath thingy. It was a slow day...ended up being almost two hours, chatting girlie things with the masseuse and cups of tea. It was awesome, I highly recommend a bit of pamper every now and then. :)

  8. This is going to sound wacky, but my favourite indulgence on holiday is hotel breakfast. It's a ridiculous price, but it's great fun. I love a long, slow breakfast, with eggs any way I want them, five kinds of juice (which I don't normally drink), hot and cold running coffee and pastries and... The really crazy thing is I often don't even eat breakfast. But all that gorgeous food that I haven't cooked myself? That's my favourite indulgence on holiday!

    1. I'm with you, Imelda. Love anything I haven't had to cook myself and a hotel breakfast is especially good.

  9. My favourite holiday indulgence is not having to prepare any food or clean up afterward or any of the other household chores. It's an indulgence not being on a timetable, exploring new places, trying different foods and there has to be shopping.

  10. P.S. Doing all of the above while based at a country retreat like the one in your book, Jen, would be pretty fabulous.

  12. Jenn, what a lovely scene! Thanks for sharing.

My husband and I are just about to escape for a little while and do as close to nothing as possible. It's been a hectic time here and the idea of being alone, and not required to do anything unless the mood takes us, is the ultimate indulgence.

  13. Fab smooch Jen, loved that last paragraph :)

The most luxurious holiday I've had was probably my honeymoon, we stayed at a lovely resort in Fiji and spent most of the time drinking cocktails by the pool. Super relaxing :)

  14. That does sound like a slice of paradise, Stefanie.

  15. Monaco! I've always wanted to go, and when I was heading to Europe a few years back, I made sure it was part of the tour. Not a romantic trip though - I went with my sister not my hubs! But all the luxury cars and people-watching did fulfill my 'glamour' wants. Congrats on the great book, Jennifer :)
