And now for today's Sunday Smooch from Louisa George's Harlequin KISS debut romance Backstage With Her Ex

Back cover blurb: Her Ex… the VIP!
Hiding out in the gents’ toilets backstage is not the way Sasha imagined bumping into her significant ex. Especially when that ex is notoriously damaged, famously wild rock god Nate Munro! She has a massive favour to ask him, but one glimpse of his sinfully dark eyes and all she can think about is that he’s seen her naked!

Nate’s used to women doing anything to get his attention, but he never pictured bubbly schoolteacher Sasha as the groupie type- she’s far too sweet! But when the paparazzi get a hint of their reunion, it’s scandal all the way. Now the question on everyone’s lips is this: In this showdown between the girl next door and rock-and-roll royalty, who’s going to come out on top?

Kiss Scene:-  Set up: Nate and Sasha have been hounded by the paparazzi and are running away…

Zigzagging through the dark west London streets they finally lost the photographers and lost themselves in the process.

She pushed her palms onto his chest. ‘Great one. My shoes are ruined. My foot hurts… This has got to be the best-’

‘Let’s just take a minute to get our bearings.’

He dragged her out of the rain into a shop doorway, bedraggled hair dripped onto her shoulders. Her dress stuck to her, delineating her shape, the tight swell of her breast, the dip of her waist. Black streaks ran down both cheeks. And yes, normally he’d walk past a woman like her- but just seeing her all fired up made his heart race erratically and his groin tighten.

‘Fine. Great. I’m already soaked to the skin, take as long as you-‘

But before she could say another word he grabbed her wrist, gently now, pinned her against the shop door. ‘God you’re beautiful.’

‘And you’re an idiot.’

‘Doing this, here, probably. But I can’t help it.’

His arms curled round her waist, brought her closer. Her breasts pressed against his chest, her lips parted just enough for him to feel her warm breath on his face. Heat engulfed him, a fierce need that meshed with the anger at those stupid trolls and the ache to kiss her.
No- his anger dissipated as quickly as it had come. And the gaping hole that was left was filled with her.

The heavy bass beat from the club opposite blurred out of focus, his peripheral vision turned to fuzz. All he could see were huge blue eyes staring up at him, telling him what he needed to know. She felt it too, this wild crazy buzz. And she had no idea what to do with it either.

Careless and foolish to want her here in such a public place, but all he could think of was tasting those lips, feeling her righteous anger and uncertainty and downright sweetness in his arms. And sometimes, just sometimes he regretted courting the publicity that had made him such a success. Sometimes he wished he could live a normal life where no-one cared who he kissed.

His thumb tracked to her lip but she didn’t move, didn’t blink, just kept on staring up at him with eyes that swirled with the same messed-up emotions as he had in his gut.

‘Sasha.’ He tilted his head towards her, saw the flicker of doubt, but he’d already seen the heat and knew she was fighting it too. ‘God, I want you and I can’t stop.’

‘We have to stop.’

‘Really? Do we? No-one can see us, it’s just you and me.’

She nodded. ‘But, what next?’

He rested his forehead against hers. ‘I don’t know. We’ll deal with it.’ Somehow.

But when her tongue darted out and licked her bottom lip he was gone. Lost. Flailing around in the essence of her, looking for something to grasp on to. But damn it, the only thing that could anchor him was her.
Slanting his mouth over hers he dipped his head and pressed his lips against the corner of her mouth. He felt her stuttered breath, the jolt of electricity that simultaneously rocked their bodies. And drank in the taste of oranges and stark clear honesty.

He knew this was insane and then some, starting something he could never follow through on. Not the way she’d want him to. It was the craziest messed-up thing he’d ever done- and that was pushing it.
But damn it, he wanted to forget what was right or wrong. Especially when it felt so good.

You can find Louisa’s book at Amazon and in book stores now!

Louisa is giving away a copy of her book to one lucky commenter!  So her question to you is:

Backstage With Her Ex features an encounter with a famous rock star- which famous person would you like to spend an evening with and why?

    1. Ah, Helen, good old Rod Stewart- I imagine he'd have an interesting tale to tell!!! Thanks for popping by!

  2. My first thought was, "I don't have any desire to be with famous people. They are just like everyone else in the world." Then I pondered it further and decided that someone like Rachael Ray could give me tips for cooking, plus she seems to have a pleasant personality, which is a bonus.

    1. Oh, Laney4 I agree, famous people are just like everyone else, but some are way more interesting than others! Rachel Ray would be a great choice- as long as she brought the food along! (I think I'd be a little reluctant to cook for someone famous for cooking!)

    2. When I bake, I share with good friends so that we each have a little while it's fresh and then we don't overdo it. One such friend is the owner/cook of a restaurant. He just loves it when I share my baking with him and his family; says no one ever cooks for him but always expects him to cook for them! I think he's disappointed when he shows up and I haven't baked lately, LOL! (He also goes straight for my food when we attend the same potluck dinner, so it isn't just my desserts!)

    3. Laney4, that's exactly the same thing that my friend, who is a chef, says! No-one ever cooks for him! Sounds like your baking is a real hit!!

  3. Daniel Craig for me any day, Louisa. I've even got a photo of me smoozing up to him. Unfortunately the wax was chilly and in real life he's anything but.
    Great smooch, too.

  5. Loved the kiss between Nate and Sasha. :)

Whenever I'm asked which famous person I'd like to spend an evening with, I always say, Jill Shalvis and Kristan Higgins. LOL I just figure it will be loads of fun since they are the Lucy and Ethel of the romance world.

  6. Louise, that's a gorgeous smooch!

Spending an evening with someone famous? Jane Goodall would be a fascinating dinner companion. Ideally it would be at her place, so I could catch a glimpse of a chimpanzee.

    1. Rachel, it would definitely be fun to visit Jane at her place!! What stories she'd have to tell!

  7. Dearie me, Louisa, this pair are in trouble, aren't they? In the nicest way possible. ;-)

For my famous person I think I'd like to choose Jennifer Crusie. We could talk romance and academia. Besides, I just think she'd be a scream.

  8. Louisa, superb Smooch! Sasha's in for a stormy time with Nate but it sounds like he has a good heart under that bad-boy exterior!

Interesting question about the famous person to spend and evening with... I think I'd like to have met James Herriot. I absolutely adore his stories about life as a veterinarian and meeting the animals and people of his everyday life. They're loaded with poignancy and humour.

    1. Sharon, Nate does have a good heart, he just doesn't like to show it! James Herriott would be a great choice... I loved his stories too, such fun. (I grew up not far from where he lived)

  9. Great smooch, Louisa. I like the sound of this rock-star story.

Funny, my husband had his own rockstar moment last night. His band had their first public gig at the local pub. It was a huge success and I got to go home with the guitarist!

    1. Hi Jen! Lucky you, got to be a groupie with your husband LOL!!! Great to hear his gig was a success, the first of many, I hope!

  10. Loved the smooch!!

I'd love an evening with Queen Elizabeth II. I admire her a great deal & after a glass of wine or two perhaps she could share some of the antics behind the scenes.

    1. Hi Mary! Spending the evening with the Queen would be interesting indeed- apparently she has a wicked sense of humor, and there would be loads of insider gossip too!

  11. My initial instinct was that I couldn't think of any famous person that I'd want to spend time with. However, on further thought, I think I'd love to an evening with Leanne Tander. I admire how she has balanced her own racing ambitions with supporting her husband, Garth's career and being a mum.

Oh, and I am so buying that book.

    1. Hi Lyn! Wow, yes, Leanne would be a fascinating dinner guest, wouldn't she? I'd be interested to hear how she managed to be so successful in such a male-dominated sport.
