I'd wave her off happily when she visits then burst into tears the second shes gone lol. Not that she knows. It's a grief but time heals. They'd be in and out of the house for a couple of years prior which I think helped with the sudden "loss" of them - they were a looooooong way away.

And I absolutely love that they did what they did. That they grew wings and flew and had the most amazing experiences.

But, my daughters been home now for 6 weeks and its been so so SO lovely having her here. I'd forgotten that she used to sing around the house all the time and it's so nice to be in my office sweating over my keyboard and here her singing in the kitchen or her bedroom or the bathroom.

I'm only just realising now how much I missed her!Amy Andrewshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12690419732247281048noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2489168146200487747.post-21686588838334972602019-01-24T20:43:09.637+11:002019-01-24T20:43:09.637+11:00I loved reading your post, Bron. ENS is very real and a major life step.

We are in a different situation in the country, with our boys needing to leave home for university and then work. Now they're fully-fledged adults and home visits are just that: visits. Their rooms are guest rooms (still with loads of their stuff in the built-ins, though!) although they always use their old room when home.

After an extended visit, such as over the Christmas break, their leaving leaves me with the alone-again blues. Sometimes I wonder if I'll ever get over the empty nest syndrome. Obviously I have no coping mechanisms to share, only the hugs!Bronwyn Jamesonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00720477786460767921noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2489168146200487747.post-46862359202739168382019-01-24T07:26:49.414+11:002019-01-24T07:26:49.414+11:00Helen, it seems you will have a full and happy nes...Helen, it seems you will have a full and happy nest for quite some time to come!
