As each new family moved in, we acquired more friends and drinking buddies and babysitters etc. Now, twenty something years later, there are only two of us originals and there have been a steady rolling change of neighbours and some properties becoming rentals with, unfortunately, not always nice people moving in. Luckily the ones that attract police attention have always been quick to move on (or be moved on) but life has definitely changed. I love the sound of your neighborhood, Sue. We first met our neighbours at our little farm the first night we moved in when we noticed a horse wandering along the side of the road when we drove past their place. We knocked on the door fairly late at night to let them know. They came around the next day to our place, delighted we had brought a horse-loving girl and her friend to the valley. They told us then we all needed to watch out for each other as neighbours and so it has been for the last twelve years!Kandy Shepherdhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16992773219169379298noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2489168146200487747.post-39589465040779064552016-10-14T09:57:41.450+11:002016-10-14T09:57:41.450+11:00Sue, good neighbours are a real blessing, aren'...Sue, good neighbours are a real blessing, aren't they? Even if you don't see them all the time. We're currently checking a neighbour's mail while he's away and know we can ask other neighbours to keep an eye on our place too. We also have an end of street Christmas party that brings everyone together and is a great way of meeting new arrivals and generally catching up.Annie Westhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16804740491737358014noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2489168146200487747.post-34074155870132902982016-10-14T08:43:25.603+11:002016-10-14T08:43:25.603+11:00Sue
